Introduction |
Application streaming can improve the flexibility, efficiency and accuracy of delivering applications to desktops, avoiding application conflicts and reducing server size.
|
Note about this event
|
This event was due to be run in February 2008, but had to be moved as
the global roll out of application streaming within the law firm has been
delayed due to a software problem (which they will cover in their
presentation). The lead time to receive the fix has prevented the pilot
solution moving into production and therefore delayed the overall
project. |
Expert Case Study |
A major International Law firm are in the final stages of implementation for their application streaming solution and have agreed to share their experience of the various stages including supplier selection, with the tif. subscriber base. In total they are aiming to streamline approximately 160 applications and deliver them to their global user base by early 2008.
Their business case for the project was based on:
Improved Stability & Reliability - by eliminating application coexistence conflicts
Improved DR - Improved recovery time of their 2nd tier Citrix application estate
Faster Response to New Business Requirements - Streaming avoids regression testing and reduces the time to deploy an application into production.
Reduced TCO of their application estate - Centralised administration and support of their applications and reduction in the number of servers and fat PCs required to deliver them.
