Reason for the Awards

Corporate Social Responsibility covers many areas including the environment, suppliers, employees, and the local community. Essentially it is about how business takes account of its economic, social and environmental impacts in the way it operates – to produce an overall positive impact on society
This award recognises the important part that can be played by IT in achieving these aims. 

Award Criteria

The judges will be looking for:

  • IT projects that have been integral to delivering positive benefits to one or more of the following areas:
    • The local community
    • Business partners
    • Employees
    • The environment

  1. Describe the key elements of the programme, how they were delivered, and the part played by IT. (200 words)
  2. Describe how this area was identified, how the partnership with stakeholders worked throughout the project, and lessons learned for future activity of this sort. (500 words)
  3. How were conflicts of ‘social benefit’ to the wider community and financial benefit or cost to the organisation dealt with? (200 words) 
  4. Describe the problems encountered and how they were overcome. (750 words)
  5. Describe the results of the programme, and how these were measured. What benefits and value has the project delivered to your business and IT? (750 words)
  6. Describe the business and IT perceptions of Corporate Social Responsibility in this area that existed before and after this project. (200 words)
  7. Why should this project win this award? (200 words)
